Verifying Your Domain
How do I verify my domain?
After you have added the DNS records to your domain provider:
- Go back to Storebeep in your Shopify admin.
- Navigate to the Email page, then Email Configuration (or the Sender Authentication page).
- Click the Validate button.
Storebeep will check your DNS records and update the status.
What do the statuses mean?
- Pending: You have entered your email and DNS records have been generated, but they have not been verified yet. Either you have not added them or they have not propagated yet.
- Verified: All DNS records are correctly in place. You are good to go. Emails will now be sent from your custom domain.
- Failed: Something is not right with one or more DNS records. See Troubleshooting DNS for help.
How long does verification take?
Once you add the DNS records, it can take anywhere from a few minutes to 48 hours for the changes to spread across the internet. This is called DNS propagation.
In most cases, records are ready within 30 minutes to an hour. If you click Validate and it does not work right away, try again after an hour.
Do I need to verify again later?
Storebeep periodically checks that your DNS records are still in place. If something changes on your domain (like DNS records being removed or modified), the status may change back to Failed.
If that happens, you will see a notice in the app and can re-add the records and validate again.
I verified successfully. What is next?
Nothing else to do. All future back-in-stock emails will automatically be sent from your custom email address. Your customers will see your brand name and domain instead of Storebeep's.
