Subscriber Statuses Explained
What do the different statuses mean?
Every subscriber in Storebeep has a status that tells you where they are in the notification cycle. Here is what each one means:
Active
The subscriber is waiting to be notified. They signed up for a back-in-stock alert, and the product is currently out of stock (or has not been restocked since they signed up).
This is the most common status. These subscribers will receive an email the next time you restock the product.
Notified
The subscriber has been sent a back-in-stock email and has reached the maximum notification count you have set. They will not receive more emails for this product unless the product goes out of stock and comes back, which resets them to Active.
Purchased
The subscriber bought the product after being notified. This is the best outcome. It means your notification worked and converted into a sale.
Expired
The subscription has expired due to inactivity. This can happen if a subscriber has been waiting for a very long time without the product being restocked.
Unsubscribed
The subscriber clicked the unsubscribe link in a notification email. They will not receive any more notifications for that product.
How does the status flow work?
Here is the typical journey of a subscriber:
- Customer signs up. Status: Active
- You restock the product. Email is sent. Status: Notified (once max notifications are reached)
- Product goes out of stock again. Status resets to: Active (they are re-enrolled automatically)
- This cycle repeats until the customer purchases, unsubscribes, or the subscription expires.
What about the notification count?
Each subscriber has a notification count that tracks how many emails they have received. This is shown in the subscriber tables next to the status badge.
The subscriber is only marked as Notified once they have received the maximum number of notifications you have set (in Email > Email Configuration > Max notifications per subscriber).
For example, if you set the maximum to 3, a subscriber stays Active through their first two notifications and is marked Notified after the third one.
Can I manually change a subscriber's status?
Yes. On the Requests > Subscribers tab, you can select subscribers and use the Mark Notified bulk action to manually set them as notified. You can also delete subscriptions entirely if needed.
