Activating the Widget

Why do I need to activate the app embed?

The Notify Me button on your storefront is powered by an app embed. Until you activate it in your Shopify theme, the button will not appear for your customers. This is a one-time setup step.

How do I activate it?

1. Open Storebeep in your Shopify admin.
2. You will see a banner at the top of the Dashboard or Settings page that says the app embed is not active.
3. Click Activate App Embed (or Activate Widget). This opens your Shopify theme editor.
4. In the theme editor, make sure the Storebeep app embed toggle is turned on.
5. Click Save in the theme editor.
6. Go back to Storebeep and click Recheck Status to confirm it is active.

Once activated, the Notify Me button will automatically appear on any out-of-stock product in your store.

I activated it but the button is not showing up

A few things to check:

• Make sure you clicked Save in the theme editor after turning on the toggle.
• The button only appears on products that are actually out of stock. Check with a product that has zero inventory.
• If you are using a custom theme, the button might need manual placement instead. See Widget Placement Options.
• Try viewing your store in an incognito/private browser window to rule out caching.

Do I need to do this for every theme?

Yes. If you switch to a different theme, you will need to activate the app embed in that new theme as well. Storebeep will show the activation banner again if it detects the embed is not enabled.
