How Storebeep Works
The basics
Storebeep helps you capture demand for out-of-stock products and automatically notify customers when those products are back in stock. Here is how it works in three simple steps:
1. Customer signs up
When a product is out of stock, a "Notify Me" button appears on the product page. Your customer clicks it, enters their email, and they are added to the waiting list for that product.
2. You restock the product
When you add inventory back to the product in Shopify (through your admin, a POS sale reversal, or any inventory management tool), Storebeep detects the change automatically.
3. Emails go out
Storebeep sends a back-in-stock email to everyone who signed up for that product. The email includes the product name, image, and a direct link to buy it.
That is it. The whole process is automatic after the initial setup. You do not need to manually send any emails.
What happens behind the scenes?
- Storebeep watches your inventory through Shopify webhooks. When stock levels change, it checks if any subscribers are waiting.
- Emails are sent at a steady pace (not all at once) to ensure reliable delivery.
- If a product goes out of stock again after notifications were sent, subscribers who already received their email are automatically re-enrolled for the next restock. They do not need to sign up again.
What information does Storebeep collect from customers?
By default, Storebeep collects:
- Email address (required)
- Newsletter opt-in (optional, you can enable or disable this)
- WhatsApp number (optional, you can enable or disable this)
You can configure which fields appear in the subscription form from your Settings page.
Does this work on collection pages too?
Yes. If you have the app embed activated, the Notify Me button will also appear on collection pages next to out-of-stock products.
