Setting Up Your Custom Sender Domain
Before you start
You will need:
- An Ultra plan subscription
- A domain that you own (like yourstore.com)
- Access to your domain's DNS settings (through your domain provider like GoDaddy, Namecheap, Cloudflare, Google Domains, etc.)
Step-by-step setup
Step 1: Enter your email address
- Open Storebeep in your Shopify admin.
- Go to the Email page and click Email Configuration.
- In the Sender Settings section, choose the custom sender option.
- Enter the email address you want to send from (e.g., [email protected]).
- Click Save or Authenticate Domain.
Storebeep will generate a set of DNS records that you need to add to your domain.
Step 2: Add DNS records
Storebeep will show you the DNS records you need to add. These typically include:
- SPF record (tells email providers that Storebeep is allowed to send email on behalf of your domain)
- DKIM record (adds a digital signature to your emails to prove they have not been tampered with)
- DMARC record (tells email providers what to do with emails that fail authentication checks)
Copy each record and add them to your domain provider's DNS settings. See Adding DNS Records for detailed instructions with screenshots for common providers.
Step 3: Verify your domain
After you have added the DNS records, come back to Storebeep and click Validate. The app will check if your DNS records are set up correctly.
- If everything looks good, your status will change to Verified and you are all set.
- If the records are not found yet, see Troubleshooting DNS.
Step 4: Start sending
Once verified, all future notification emails will be sent from your custom email address. You do not need to do anything else.
Can I change my email address later?
Yes. You can update the username part (the part before the @) without needing to re-verify. For example, if you verified [email protected], you can switch to [email protected].
If you want to use a completely different domain, you will need to delete the current authentication and start the process over.
